Flies are genetically similar to people in some species. According to NASA, the genes of fruit flies match roughly 77% percent of the human illness genes that have been found. Most fruit fly species have a short life cycle, therefore the transition from egg to adult takes only a week. Fruit flies have frequently been used in medical research labs as a result of this.

Female fruit flies have also been observed in genetic laboratories living fully headless for several days while still performing tasks such as preening, walking, and flying.
3. Flies can't chew your meal, so when they land on it, they spit stomach enzymes that break down the food for them to swallow with their proboscises. Furthermore, many house flies lay eggs on the meal they are eating. Don't worry if the acid spewed out of the fly's stomach makes you sick (that's only half the problem)!
